Acne is a problem that millions of people face. Though it is generally thought to be a problem that teenagers struggle with, in reality, there really isn't a time where you "grow out" of getting acne. 1) Mint - Herbs that are menthol based work wonders for treating acne. You simply take the leaves and crush them. Take the juice from the leaves and spread it on the pimple. Let it sit for 10 minutes, and then rinse it off. You can get menthol based herbs from a health store, or they are very simple to grow yourself.
2) Oatmeal - Oatmeal is great to treat a variety of skin conditions. It may look a little strange on your face, but it works like a charm to treat acne, eczema, dry skin and a number of other ailments. To prepare the oatmeal mask, prepare it according to the instructions on the back of the box. Once ready, apply it and let it sit for 15 - 20 minutes. Simply rinse off afterwards with warm water.
3) Toothpaste - Toothpaste can also work very well to treat acne. Simple apply a dab of toothpaste to a pimple, let it sit for 10 minutes or so and wash it off. This works in a similar manner to the mint mentioned above.
4) Orange Peel - Take the peel of an orange and mash or blend it up. Use this citrus paste on your acne. Wash it off after 30 minutes. This works because of the citrus in the orange peel. You can also use lemon juice mixed with water for this.
5) Garlic - Using garlic to treat acne smells awful. However, it can work surprisingly well. Mash a glove of garlic and mix with warm water. Use a cotton ball to apply this mixture to acne. If you can stand the smell, leave it on overnight. If not, rinse it off before you go to bed.
